SARPC running Select RO 6.20.

Gerald has suggested I post here. :-(

Downloaded and merged in Gerald's most recent Sys32 and have the similar
1.34/05 version of the app. (His latest upload)

It will not run on this machine. (Get to that another time)

After doing the System merge and rebooting the computer the ROM version of
FPCEmulator 4.22 has not been made dormant, and it cannot be, either
Kill(ed) or Unplugged.
Attempting to do so causes a catastrophic cascade of system things dying
in succession, requiring a back button reset.

Some thoughts would be appreciated, as I think this is probably causing
1.34/05 to fail.

Thanks
Dave

Same here - on an emulator.

Are you getting complaints about Fireworkz needing FPEmulator 4.28 or
later?

My machine has FPEmulator 4.19 in a number of locations but nothing
newer. I changed Fireworkz's !Run to RMEnsure this version and all was
well! Out of interest the R-Comp version of Fireworkz Pro RMEnsures
version 4.19.

No, it was not getting that far.

That's interesting, I was assuming it needed FPE 4.28

In light of your post Brian, I did just that and RMEnsured FPEmulator 4.22
was used, and lo and behold, Fwz came to life.

Thanks
Dave

FWIW. I have a mirror of this SARPC running under emulation VRPC-AdjustSA
on XP and the System merge did work correctly, and FPE 4.22 was made
dormant and 4.28 activated in its place.

That's going to cause some confusion when I sync the two machines.

Strange business, and I still don't know why... Must ask in on of the more
appropriate groups.

I don't believe the new (5.56) SharedCLibrary *demands* the FPEmulator
that is shipped alongside it (I built with ROOL C20 and use C99
functions so do need a new SCL) so will change the !Run's RMEnsure to a
lower FPEmulator (4.03) version.

Haven't seen anything about merging the RISC OS Open supplied !System
(there is a newer one that the one I supplied Gerald with, can be found
on their website) with a RISC OS Six system - anyone know anything about
how that works, if at all?

Stuart
