Assalamu Alaykum Dear Parents and Staff,

We just wanted to check-in and see how things are going with the winter fundraising event. Some students and parents have asked us if we can draft an email for the potential "Patrons of Light." Please personalize the email below to you your contacts and share with your other social media outlets. 

Also please have your children turn in all funds collected to date on February 3, 2014 for the first phase of the fundraiser as mentioned in the letter. The second phase will conclude on February 24, 2014.

I am a student who attends the Carriers of Light program and would like to see it grow and flourish. 

Carriers of Light seeks to instill the love of the Quran in the hearts of students through study and reflection. We are hosting a winter fundraiser drive in which we are competing to for the most "Patrons of Light." I would greatly appreciate it if you would support me in this endeavor. This is also a sample email that a student from the Beams class wrote. Having the students write the email add a personal touch to program as ultimately we are servicing the young Muslims of our community. The response that the student has received has been overwhelming Mashallah.

The subject of the email was "Please help out my school." 

As salaam alaykum.
My school is carriers of light.
I do a lot of pretty colorings and crafts at carriers of light.
I learned a lot of math. I learned how to read lots of books.
I play fun math games about counting and adding.
I work really hard on my projects at school.
I just memorized six surahs. at takathur, al qariah, humazah, tab at yadaa, quraysh, and mauoon.
My Quran teacher ms farah helped me review some surahs that I already knew. Those surahs are called fatihah, feel, the three quls, Surah nasr, wal asr, kawthar, and ayat al kursi. Right now I am learning Surah qadr.

My school is special because I love the teachers there. I love ms aisha because she plays a fun game about a bird that wants to make wudu. Ms farah is really special because she gives us fun prizes when she teaches us new surahs. Ms Leila is special because she is so nice, she always helps the kids. Ms Ghazala helps everyone in the school and is so nice. Mr Esteban cleans the school really well and he is so good at cleaning the school.

Please give $100 to carriers of light so that we can have a bigger school and the school can be nice and detailed and pretty and lots of kids can learn Quran in there.
