USB won't boot, autogen fails

I can't get my machine to boot from USB so have cloned https://github.com/hughski/colorhug-client 

running autogen fails ...

./configure: line 13811: syntax error near unexpected token `0.9.8'

./configure: line 13811: `GOBJECT_INTROSPECTION_CHECK(0.9.8)'

what am I doing wrong :-)

You need gobject-introspection installed. If you're on Fedora the
easiest way is to do "sudo dnf builddep colorhug-client"
