We recently purchased a Docucolor 250 to add to 2 Docucolor 12
machines we had. Our experience with the agent in East Africa has been
a nightmare with no spares stocked and poorly skilled technicians. We
even have to buy our own toners. But they are the best of the rest
despite this. It has meant waiting months for spares or having to buy
them ourselves despite the maintenace contract.

I heard somewhere that having the technical supprt CD can reduce our
problems and hopefully reduce our misery.

Anyone know how we can go about getting this?

I would call Xerox directly here in the states. You can talk to a
salesperson who is authorized to give you the number for support
staff. I have had support staff give me lots of internal documents
and their personal phone numbers. If you are working for a good cause
and explain how horrible your situation is you might get some help.

You may also put a posting around for people with Toner maintenance
contracts closer to Africa, they might be willing to "donate" toner
they get on contract.

I also know an outfit called JJ Bender provides training for
maintenance on some Xerox machines. You could call them and ask for
help or guidance.

Good luck!
