Good Morning,
First of all sorry for my poor english.

I am planning to open a small digital print service, mostly related to
graphic works such as brochures, booklets and cards. My average
production should be about 15.000 documents / month.

My first choice was to get a Xerox Docucolor 240 with external Fiery
rip but today i had a good offer for a Ricoh 5560 color copier with
external Fiery rip too. Price for copy is about the same.

I know Ricoh makes office products not directly related to graphic
world, but technical specifications of these two machines are pretty
similar and investment price on Ricoh product is about 20% less
expensive.

Ricoh 5560 has 600 x 600 print resolution, Docucolor is 2400 x 2400.
Ricoh print speed is 55 color, 60 bn - faster than DC240 - and it can
handle more heavy paper from the bypass tray.

Does anyone has some information about Ricoh printers and can suggest
me if it's a good choice for my kind of work, or is better to choose a
Docucolor 240? It would be really nice for me if someone has
experiences about these two printers.

Thankyou in advance.
Andrea

I think last I knew Canon, Xerox and now Konica have more than 85% of the
print for pay market place. Lots of reasons, but you're bucking the trends
if you go with that Ricoh unit.

The other part to ask is the click charges for any size? The big 3 all
charge only one click for 11x17. I am pretty sure Ricoh is 2.

Next is the speed, you find they slow way down on cover stocks. The Xerox
will feed from it from the draw. Very few stocks go via the bypass.

Last Join NAQP, the deals will save you huge on the Xerox and get Larry
Hunts letter. Between the 2 you will save 1000's www.larryhunt.com

Thankyou in advance.
