Eye dropper picking up wrong part of screen

The eye dropper seems to be reading my screen about one inch or so higher than where I position it. I have not changed anything else on the computer and can't quite figure it out. I have tried the different available versions of Color Cop with the same results. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Many thanks in advance.
