How Do You
Choose?
There are a lot of options out there for youth
volleyball this time of year! And, it can be a cut-throat and very
confusing world for parents who want to do what's right for their kids. My
advice to you is to find out AS MUCH AS YOU CAN about the people who make up
the CLUBS you are considering. You are NOT going to
get all of the accurate information you need from the CLUBS
themselves, so you are going to have to do some research. If you do not do
research on the front end, you may end up with a 6 or 8 month commitment that
puts an unnecessary strain on you, your bank account, your player, and rest
of your family!!!
--Ask all founders, management and coaching staffs
for their backgrounds and bios.
--Ask them when and WHY they started their
CLUB.
--Ask them about the key strategies of HOW they got
their CLUB off the ground.
--Ask their COMPETITORS what they think of this
CLUB.
--Ask parents within that organization what they
think of this CLUB.
--Ask parents from COMPETING organizations what
they think of this CLUB.
--Ask non-club entities in the industry what they
think of this CLUB.
--And, take a look at how well the CLUB's
teams fared overall in prior years.
Once you get answers to these questions from
several sources, you will have a much clearer picture of the TRUE fabric
of the CLUB you are considering.
Club 5280
Volleyball
Based on my
third-party personal experience from direct contact with
management of many clubs in our facility over the past year, my personal
recommendation goes out to Club 5280. The 5280 management team has been
involved in Colorado club volleyball for an extensive number of years. The
founder has an long-standing bio that he is willing to share with anyone, and my
experience with the management team and coaches of this organization has been
nothing but positive. (Because this is an
unnecessarily cut-throat industry, there are unfortunately very few
organizations for which I can honestly say that.)
If you are looking at potential clubs for your
kids, I recommend checking into Club 5280 this weekend (flier and coupon
attached).

A Non-Club
Option
Inverness Sports Complex does not have a "club"
because there are PLENTY already. Instead, we offer a
growing club-alternative "league" for those who just do not want to make
all the sacrifices associated with the long and intense club-season.
I created this program only to fill a niche for the kids
who get left out...and, over the past year, many parents have said to me
something like,
"I love this league! Our daughter has really
improved and enjoyed the coaching.
We love the competition she gets and the fact that we don't sacrifice the
rest of our lives for a ‘club’ atmosphere.
Thank you for creating South Metro Volleyball!" --John, Highlands
