Hello,

I just attended an AEA TIG meeting and wanted to pass on some information.

1) Tomorrow there is a Town Hall with the current AEA President and the AEA board. Here is a discussion: The American Evaluation Association invites all members to meet AEA’s new President, Dr. Karen Jackson, along with members of the Board of Directors for 2025. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about the Board of Directors’ focus for this year, and the president's chosen theme for the 2025 Annual Conference in Kansas City. If you are an AEA member you can go to this page to register: https://www.eval.org/Education-Programs/Town-Halls
2) They are working on designing this year's conference so you can give feedback on this Google Form about last year's conference. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfDKrZftrXbs2hlxFXQKZbHFBRsEGk0ipzh3PH5xqP_AuIlIQ/viewform
3) AEA understands that there is a lot of uncertainty in the evaluation world. They are examining ways to address the issues. Nothing is set in stone yet, so I can't say what they will do because today it was a lot of discussion. Also, several Topic Interest Groups are working on organizing events.

Great summary, Crystal! To add one more thing... only 50% of AEA members are part of a Topical Interest Group (TIG)... TIGs are the homes we evaluators live in, and they make AEA a stronger intellectual community. If you are an AEA member and haven't joined one yet, take the time to pursue the 55 or so TIGs and select some that align with your areas of interest. You'll be invited to events (trainings, meetings, and sometimes parties at AEA), be asked for input, join an online email stream specific to that topic, and have the opportunity to join a leadership position when you are ready.
