Hi COEN,
Wishing everyone a happy new year. I'm writing to share a
request for proposal we just published for a process evaluation of a grantmaking fund.
For some context, the Truist Foundation Western North Carolina Recovery and Resiliency Fund supports housing and small business recovery and resilience in communities affected by Hurricane Helene.
We know there is limited knowledge about applications of disaster philanthropy and how philanthropy can support disaster recovery. So this large recovery fund presents a unique opportunity to learn from its design and execution.
The process evaluation will help inform the Center for Disaster Philanthropy's future work while also providing the field with knowledge about how a fund of this size can be carried out effectively and strategically.
A background in conducting similar process evaluations is important and familiarity with grantmaking and/or knowledge of disaster philanthropy in the U.S. is preferred.
Please share with anyone you believe may be a good fit. The RFP includes definitions and common questions and answers which may be helpful. Proposals must be submitted by Jan. 30, 2026, at 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
All the best,
Austin Snowbarger
