I correspond with Sherry, not not as frequently as I should. . She is a wonderful woman who does not need to be locked up any longer. If anyone is interested in writing a letter asking the governor for clemency, please do so...send it to her attorney. Thanks-Kathie

FYI,
In addendum to her previously published plea for parole support, I am posting the following information to bring everyone up to date on Sherry's current situation:
Sherry's parole was denied in October of last year, and her request for a furlough to visit her dying mother was denied. Her mother died in November 2007. She currently has the parole denial on appeal, and she has applied for clemency in the form of time cut to time served due to having spent 19 years behind bars as of July 3 of this year.
Please keep our friend Sherry Nance in your prayers as she has suffered all kinds of hardships over the course of the past several months, and she is currently being abused and forced to work at hard labor on a specially created chain gang for older women. A devout Roman Catholic, Sherry attends Mass at every opportunity, and she remembers to pray for all of us prison reform advocates in her Rosary devotion each night. So please, dear friends, let's not forget her.
In Solidarity,
Tom Hardin

Sherry's Information
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I need help from all concerned citizens who think that the hidden crime of incest and child molestation should be stopped.
In the late 1980s, my son started having problems. I sought help for these, never at first suspecting what was really happening. The truth of a biological father sodomizing his own son was a foreign concept to me.
My husband and I had been having marital problems, and I had threatened divorce. I gave a date by which I would file on him. Before this came about, my son started soiling his pants. He was only eight years old at the time, but he had been potty trained since two.
I confronted my husband with the dire possibilities associated with all of this, and I sought help for my son. I saved a bag of my son's fecal soiled underwear, and I tried to get them tested by the police and child protective services. They refused to do this even at my expense. They were not interested in helping my son, and I was still trying to force an investigation when the event I am currently incarcerated for happened.
During my trial, the evidence of defense of my son was kept from me. The bag of fecal soiled underwear I had tried to get tested was in my car the whole time. My car was impounded by the sheriff's department during that same time period. This fact was not released until it was to late to be used in my defense. The district attorney had told my attorney that there were no such items in the car. Texas law on new evidence stipulates that it must be introduced within 30 days of conviction to be used. Therefore, I was time barred.
Later on, H.B.O. did a television documentary on me titled "Women On Trial," and they managed to get the evidence I wasn't allowed to produce at trial released. They then paid for having it tested by the gene screen lab in San Antonio. The testing revealed that the material in my son's under shorts did in fact contain sperm.
My husband was killed, and I was convicted of capital murder. I am presently applying for parole, and I would appreciate having as many people as possible write support letters for me. Under Texas law, I had to serve fifteen years flat before I could be considered for parole. I have now served eighteen years in prison, and my 83-year-old mother is dying of cancer. I gravely need to be with her for as long as possible before she dies.
Anyone who would be so kind as to write parole support letters in my behalf can send them to any of the following addresses:
