We have exciting news to share!

Welcoming Roohallah

Roohallah Mobarez, Director of Communications for Remerg, helps a caller.

We’re excited to announce Roohallah Mobarez joined Remerg in July as Director of Communication. An aspiring entreprenuer, Roohallah brings grit, smarts, and lived experience with incarceration to the Remerg effort to reduce recidivism.

Roohallah is helping Remerg launch our new call line for Remerg.com. We know low literacy and tech levels may prevent the successful navigation of a website. We also know the value of personal help and warm handoffs to places that we list on Remerg.com. Thanks to support from The Denver Foundation, Remerg is now personally helping more people find what they need, when they need it.

The number for the Remerg.com call line is 303-993-3551, and it's answered Monday through Friday from 10am to 4pm. You'll always find it at the top of the home page on Remerg.com.

Support Our Membership Drive

Did you know Wikipedia and Khan Academy were founded as public benefit websites? So was Remerg.com!

Yes, the comparison's a bit audacious, but when you put something out there that's free for people to use, it takes a little chutzpah. It also requires support from the public, which is why I give Khan Academy, listed on Remerg.com here, $10 a month. It’s why I donated to Wikipedia for the first time not too long ago.

If you value the work of Remerg.com and our goal to reduce recidivism, if your organization benefits from being on Remerg.com, if you know someone who found what they needed through Remerg.com, please support our work.

Our 2021 membership drive goal is to recruit at least new 100 monthly donors to Remerg.com. If you can give $5, $10, $25, or $100 a month, please go to our Donate page now and support Remerg.com on a monthly basis.

Thanking you in advance from all of us at Remerg.

Carol Peeples, Founder & Director of Remerg

Connecting These Dots

Traffic on Remerg.com has doubled in 2021--that's exciting! But the graphic above from Google Analytics demonstrating the geo-locations of the 13,656 Colorado-based visitors to Remerg.com during the first half of 2021 is also pretty exciting.

As you can see, the majority of people who use Remerg.com are along the Front Range. That makes sense--the majority of people who get out of prison return to these communities.

The far-flung dots also thrill us, for they demonstrate we’re improving our reach across the state. That's more cause for celebration in the Remerg office and why we love connecting the dots.

You're Invited!

Helping People Navigate First Days Out

Imagine just getting out of prison and you’re not sure where your parole office is, or the closest place for a mandatory drug screen, or the closest re-entry organization. Figuring out how to get from place to place is not just stressful—it can be overwhelming.

That's why Remerg jumped at the chance to collaborate with Dr. Jeffrey Lin, Associate Professor of crime and punishment at the University of Denver, to develop a resource map.

Funded by The Center for Community Engagement to advance Scholarship and Learning, whose vision is to collaborate with communities to improve lives, the Remerg.com resource map will include halfway houses, parole offices, drug screen companies, re-entry organizations, crisis centers, and organizations that specialize in employment placement for formerly incarcerated people.

That’s just Phase I—we'll add more types of resources later this fall. Watch for the map to launch in late August!
