Greetings!

Early bird registration ends July 1st for an unprecedented one-day conference that will challenge conventional thinking around sexual offense laws and policies. Hosted by Arizonans for Rational Sex Offense Laws (AZRSOL) on September 27, 2024 at Arizona State University, AZRSOL's Public Policy: New Directions in Sexual Offense Policy will bring together national experts to examine evidence-based practices for preventing sexual violence while preserving constitutional rights.

Headlining the event is Dr. Kristen M. Zgoba, a renowned criminologist who has testified before the U.S. Supreme Court on sexual offense cases. Dr. Zgoba will share insights from her NIJ-funded research testing the effectiveness of registries and the federal SORNA guidelines.

Other featured speakers include:

  • Professor Emily Horowitz, author of "From Rage to Reason: Why We Need Sex Crime Laws Based on Facts, Not Fear"
  • Paul Dubbeling, former military JAG attorney who successfully challenged residency restrictions in North Carolina
  • Guy Hamilton-Smith, NARSOL board member whose scholarship on flawed registries has been cited by federal appeals courts

This conference provides a rare opportunity to hear from leading authorities and engage in candid discussions about myths, consequences of over-incarceration, legal challenges, and developing policies grounded in data rather than fear and misinformation.

Whether you're a legislator, law enforcer, attorney, therapist or concerned citizen, you won't want to miss this vital dialogue on smarter approaches to sexual offense policies. Seats are limited, so register now at www.azrsol.org before early bird pricing ends July 1st.

Best,

Patricia & Terry Borden, Directors
