The NAACP Portland
Branch, Crime and Justice Institute at Community Resources for Justice,
and Maine Department of Corrections are pleased to present a facilitated
conversation with national and state corrections experts,
practitioners, policy makers and community members, with support from
the National Institute of Corrections and University of Maine School of
Law. This daylong symposium is intended to expand our
understanding, collective action, and investment in achieving better
outcomes in our correctional facilities and offender reentry to our
communities.
We are pleased to be joined by Dr. Edward Latessa of the
University of Cincinnati School of Criminal Justice, George M. Keiser
of the National Institute of Corrections, and Commissioner Harold W.
Clarke of the Massachusetts Department of Correction, national leaders
in criminal justice, and Professor of criminal law and procedure,
Malick Ghachem of the University of Maine School of Law.
