We need you at the Douglas County District Court House next week to stand with Bob Autobee against the death penalty. Now is your chance to do something concrete to help end this barbaric practice in Colorado! Here are the details: WHAT: Jury selection is to begin on the retrial of Edward Montour, whose death sentence was overturned last year. He faces retrial for the murder of Bob Autobee’s son, Eric. WHEN: Bob Autobee, CADP, and our supporters will be gathering outside the courthouse from 8:00-8:30am and from 1:00-1:30pm on Monday, January 6th, Wednesday, January 8th, Thursday, January 9th, and Friday, January 10th. We will be picketing with signs asking DA Brauchler not to seek the death penalty. WHERE: Douglas County Courthouse 4000 Justice Way Ste. 2009 WHY: To stand with Bob Autobee and to show the Coloradans do not want the death penalty. Bob has come to forgive his son’s killer and would rather see public funds directed to paying prison guards better wages and implementing measures to keep prison workers safe. His faith in God led him to grapple with his grief and come to direct his energy toward seeking repeal of the death penalty rather than retribution. The Denver Post will be at the courthouse on Monday taking photos, so we’d like to have a large showing. CADP will be making some signs, but feel free to make your own.
