[Message] My name is Christopher Dum, and I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology at Kent State University. I am conducting an IRB-approved, voluntary research study about the experiences of individuals who are now or who have ever been geographically separated from a loved one due to incarceration (meaning the prison was so far away that visiting and returning home in a day was difficult or impossible). Therefore, I am interested in both people with loved ones who are currently or previously incarcerated, as well as formerly incarcerated individuals.

I am reaching out because of your work with people involved with the prison system. I was hoping you might be able to assist me with finding people to speak with. If you wish to learn more about the study, you can visit the following website and direct people to it. I can also send information that can be emailed to people or posted online.
