Good morning to you, CRJ listener!

Ryan here. I'm writing from the Colorado Radio for Justice studio on Downing Street in downtown Denver. We're fortunate to have 2 corner windows in our space; the sun spills in, and this week, the trees on this block are particularly golden.

CRJ's been busy, from Longmont to Parker to conducting interviews with several legislators at the Capitol in Denver for an upcoming audio doc. So, it's refreshing to have a quiet morning in the studio!

If you have staff vacancies, that's one way of rebalancing, right? It isn't always just to throw money to get more staff. It can be to reduce the population and you can rebalance the beds - then you have enough staff. There's more tools in the toolkit. And a lot of legislators don't know how to ask - they don't know. Which is why this voice is so important and why this program and you guys really coming into the policy space matters so much - so they do understand what is really happening and what's really going on inside.
