Hi everyone....just a heads up for those of us in sunny Blighty...Hell
Drivers is being shown on BBC2 on Monday at 11.30am...last time the
BBC showed it they also made it available on-line with BBCi player
which I think is international, so good luck....
This is one terrific film....My favourite PMG bits, well almost every
scene he's in...but there's the big fight at the dance hall....PMG
leading the conga banging his big bad drum.....
And the best of all....that lovely little scene btwn himself, as Red
the fiery bullying foreman, and wee Herbert Lom when he wrenches the
latter's door open to bash him only to find him way ahead of him,
Herbie is idly reading his newspaper, but so so coolly swinging his
wrench just out of sight and is ready to clobber him if
necessary...very funny...love PMG's expression of amused, grudging
respect and wicked laugh..lovely, lovely.. ....
And to top it all I have a great B/W off-set photo of PMG and Sean
Connery playing chess....Goodness, they made a gorgeous couple...I
always wondered who won that match....
