Actually I'm not sure if i like it more or not. In the end it really doesn't matter.
One has to wonder though if it is something from upstream or another distro like debian.
it was in a folder called "freedesktop" as apposed to the "ubuntu" folder the old is in. Just for kicks i restarted before uploading it, and the old one played this time.

gnome-centric) for that purpose?

I already have the mplayer plugin, and it works just fine for most
everything except ogg files. I'll have to do some googling.

Interestingly enough I have all the ogg/vorbis stuff, and mplayer
plays the ogg file just fine. It's just a plugin/mime problem. Haven't
found much via google yet.
Absolutely maddening! Any other ogg file plays normally, but not the
url posted by Andrew. Maybe googlepages is throwing in some garbage.
