Has anyone had problems with setting up samba on Gutsy gibbon? It worked on my laptop.  I could see the workgroup and shared folder. My desktop which really needs samba, is not working. The ports are open because I checked them with nmap. I can not see any shared folders or a workgroup from the local computer after activating samba.

Are you doing regular sharing or manually specifying smbfs? If you
are usinb smbfs, don't. Use "cifs" instead.

Regular sharing. I even tried to do it the easy way and use the ubuntu share folders. No luck

Hi Phillip,

I am able to see our team shares on the AD-Master here in our office.
It actually worked better and faster than it did in Feisty, at least for
me. Maybe its because we have a domain instead of a workgroup????
