CUDA driver version is insufficient for CUDA runtime version

Hello Johannes,

I´ve tried your program with the workstation in my office and the program
is great. But with the cpu at home(is the same processor, RAM, mortehrboard
etc. but the GPU is an old GeForce GTX 285 with 342.01 Nvidia controller
and CUDA 6.5 driv---win10-64) it is not working.


Error after running test.bat: exhaustive_matcher.exe fails with
"CheckCudaDevice: CUDA driver version is insufficient for CUDA runtime
version.


If the gpu card is not working, i can buy a new one – what´s your tip?

Hi,

Have you tried to update your NVIDIA GPU driver? Otherwise, you could check to see if a manual compile fixes the problem or a newer GPU solves the problem.

yes it is the newest driver version. A manual compile is for my it-skills too difficult. Sorry but i am only a user.

In the end, your GPU is rather weak, especially for the dense reconstruction part. If money isn't a problem, I suggest to get a GTX 980/1080 (Ti) (just make sure to get an Nvidia card for CUDA support), which probably gives you the best value for money at the moment.
