Hello,

Thank you for your COLMAP, it is a great tool. I have a concern about the compatible between SIFT features of VisualSFM (http://ccwu.me/vsfm/) and COLMAP.

Is it possible that I import the *.sift files produced by VisualSFM to COLMAP without modifications (e.g. the coordinate of keypoint)???

I have read about the convention about the feature coordinate (https://colmap.github.io/tutorial.html#feature-detection-and-extraction) but can you please explain it more detail? because if possible, I would like to try SIFT extracted by VisualSFM, VLFeat or David Lowe (http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~lowe/keypoints/)

Thank you very much for your time!

COLMAP uses SiftGPU by default, which should give equivalent results to VisualSfM, which also uses SiftGPU.

If you use CPU-based SIFT extraction in COLMAP, you automatically use VLFeat.

In summary, there will be no need to compute features externally.

In general, I suggest to enable the ``estimate_affine_shape`` and ``domain_size_pooling`` options to obtain the best results and if increased runtime is not an issue. This should give the best results.

Cheers,

Johannes
