This morning a pile of mail was found on Maplecrest Drive. It belonged to a resident on Maplecrest Court. Please be on the look out for strange people/vehicles.....especially as the holidays approach, there is always an increase in mail being taken from boxes and packages lifted from front yards. Call the non-emergency police number 503-823-3333 to get a patrol car to drive through and 911 if you see a crime in progress.
If you are a victim of this sort of theft, please take the time to report it. If there is no suspect information, you can do it online at www.portlandpolice.com or on the phone 503 823 3333. Police do use the information to see patterns in crime and can adjust their patrols accordingly.
On another note: if you have not already, please check out Next Door at https://nextdoor.com/. CVNA will be phasing out the Google Groups messages over the next few months in favor of this more flexible, secure, user-friendly and interactive tool. We'll be sending out invitations shortly, but you can sign up on your own now if you like.
It will allow anyone to post information, events and alerts. This will decrease the delay in getting out important crime and safety information and allow for comments and discussion - a feature we do not really have now. We will continue to post in both places for the time being.
IMPORTANT: after you sign up, go into "settings" to configure your notification preferences. Also....it requires you to input your exact address but, after you've signed up, you can choose to hide it (and the map it generates.)
