CVNA received this report from a neighbor yesterday (July 30). As Officer Caspar says: if you witness behavior like this call the police immediately. For an "area check" you can use the non-emergency number 503 823 3333. For a "crime in progress" (that includes opening mailboxes that do not belong to you!), call 911.

"I would like to report some suspicious activity I observed along the upper stretch of Boones Ferry Road just below the cemetery and 4th Avenue. A young black rather chubby male of approx. 14 to 15 yrs. of age, clean cut, wearing a baseball cap and a bright red with blue highlights backpack was walking up Boones Ferry Road going through the mailboxes along the east side of the street. He looked like a boy coming home from school - except for his suspect activity. When I observed him opening the mailbox just below the long row of mailboxes at 4th Ave., I asked him what he was doing going through the mailbox (I know to whom the mailbox belongs). He responded that he lived in the house across the street from me. I know that he does not live in that house. He went into that driveway, kept looking at me watching him, then he raced across the lawn and up SW 4th Ave. I do not know where he went at that point.

Yhe neighbors will need to watch their mailboxes and keep an eye out for this young man."

In other, happier news...... See you all this Sunday 3pm-7pm, at Lewis and Clark, for the CVNA party!
