Car Prowls in CVNA Area

Below is an update from our Crime and Safety Chair regarding possible car prowls. Please call police non-emergency 503 823 3333 for suspicious characters or 911 if there is a "crime in progress." If you are the victim of a car prowl or vandalism, please take the time to report it as the police can then see the increase in activity in our area. If you have no suspect information, you can make your report online at www.portlandpolice.com or by using the above non-emergency number.

I received an email this morning from Tim O'Dwyer, Director of Safety at Lewis & Clark College, who said that he saw a vehicle on SW Ridge that had a broken window (with glass on the ground) while on a walk about 7:00 am today. I was off to work about this same time and also saw a parked vehicle on SW View Point Terrace that had two of its windows broken with glass also on the ground. There may have been more incidents that occurred in the neighborhood last night that have not yet been reported.

Please be on the alert and remove all personal property from your vehicles while parked and unattended. Even a nickel left on your vehicle's center console could result in a broken window.
