The temperature sensors are finally up and running and duct-taped to the
wall; free free to move 'em around. The graphs are (for now) at
http://www.bit0.com/collexion/

Also, the Asus router I brought in has apparently died already (WTF) so
I put the WRT54G back in service.

Hey, that's cool!  (pun intended).

It would be neat to know where each sensor is located, particularly its elevation. I guess the coolest would be some sort of temperature map of the room.  Ahhh...in our spare time.

How about putting one sensor directly in the HVAC vent.  This would make it easy to see in the graphs how hard (or at least how often) we're spending energy on climate control.

FWIW, I stopped by Friday afternoon and the A/C was set to a very comfy 68 before I got there.  I worked for a while, then cranked it up to 78 on my way out. Maybe I should have just turned it off...I dunno. Do we have a policy on how to set it when the space is vacant during the cooling seasons?

Ooohhh...we can add an I/R occupancy sensor (e.g. motion dedector) and add that to the data stream to analyze how well we're utilizing the climate control.  Again, more spare time...

First step towards automating the AC with an IR blaster is why I did this in the first place.  :)  I don't yet have a map of which sensor is which though.  Next visit, I'll work on that...  The only reason I didn't stick one on the HVAC vent is I don't have a ladder that tall that fits in a Honda Civic :)

Good plan, Mike!

I can drop off a 24' extension ladder if you want.  I used it to hang the projection screen.  It is *just* barely short enough to use at Collexion. An 8-10 foot step ladder would probably be more practical if someone has one.

Let me know if you want me to drop it off.
