Demo:  Mecsoft gave a nice demo yesterday.  VisualMill/RhinoCam has a lot of automated functions that could save time.  I think we can get a lot done with CamBam for now.  Maybe an opportunity will come along that could help cover the cost of VisualMill in the future.

After-Party:  After the demo we loaded another fresh sheet of luan on the table and g-code for the next set of bulkheads.  We cleared stuff away from one side of the table but I neglected to check the back side and crashed the y-axis into the table saw.  In the process of checking/re-aligning we discovered a problem and have the y-axis a-slave motor off for the moment.

....soooo, if anyone is planning to use it, sorry for the delay.  I hope to get down there soon (tonight if possible) and put parts back together.  I think Tom might join.  Tom has some good ideas for re-assembling that might save some hassle down the road.  We need some washers.  I don't know exact sizes, but can pick up a variety at the HW store before heading down.  Unless of course there is already a big stash of washers -- I didn't dig around for them last night.  I think we need some 1/2 washers and some smaller than a 10-24 ish size bolt.  Lock washers will help.

There are a variety of #8 washers I bought for the Z-axis fix.

If you're doing work on the gantry, consider turning the whole thing around, or maybe mounting the X-Z car on the other side of the gantry.  As it is, the computer is on the opposite end from what might be the "normal" access to the worksurface under the router.  Or maybe not...worth looking at and discussing ergo preferences.  Then again, it might be safer to have the PC at the opposite end from the working area.  Could be argued either way.  Of course, simply moving the keyboard/monitor might be an easier solution than reorienting the router.

Dave,
Thanks.  I'll look for the washers.  We'll look at the orientation of the gantry, etc.  It didn't seem too much like a problem to me to have it on the side it's on.
