Today I was able to generat G-Code from VisualCAD and FreeMill.  If anybody is interested I recommend downloading it and playing with it.  It seems pretty straight forward.

I'm happy to demonstrate what I've learned so far for anyone that's interested.

Dave, or anyone familiar with our Mach-3 setup.  The options available for the Mach-3 postprocessor are 1)Mach3-ATC, Mach3-Inch, Mach3-MM, and Mach3-Sherline.

Does anybody know which one our rig is setup to use?  I set my unit to inches for a model that I'm playing with so maybe I'll try the Mach3-Inch first.  ....advice welcome.

I'm 1/2 way inclined to run down to the space and see if I can cut a file I have.  Does the mechanism run the entire 4x8 bed?  I didn't pay attention to see if the wires ran that far.

Awesome!  Can't wait to see it.

I'm pretty sure you'll want Mach3-Inch.  I don't know what ATC is.  Sherline is useful if your controller hardware has some glitch...I forget what.  But that was an old revsion...I made sure our Gecko G540 was the latest revision at the time of purchase, so we should be good.  And of course mm is for cultures more advanced than our own.  ;-)

Yes, it does, but you'll need to be on your toes as far as cable management goes. I wouldn't expect it to drag the cables around nicely over the whole deck like it has on our little 1 foot test cuts.  We really need to get our cable management up to snuff...
