National 4-H Week Promotion
National 4-H Week is held every year as a time to celebrate, promote, and share the 4-H positive youth development movement. This year on October 4-10, 4-H youth across the country will be celebrating 4-H  and all it has to offer with this year's theme of "Celebrate 4-H."

Attached to this e-mail is an Idea Guide created by the National Collegiate 4-H Advocacy Team with ideas of how to promote 4-H at your university or in your community.

Visit http://www.4-HBrandNetwork.org/ to download their promotional kit for National 4-H Week.  The kit is designed to include all the great marketing and media relations materials necessary to help you successfully promote National 4-H Week events and activities in your community.

4-H National Youth Science Day

On October 7, 2009, 4-H National Youth Science Day will give young people nationwide the opportunity to join leading scientists in experimenting with biofuels to discover which ones will lead us to a sustainable future. Be part of this opportunity to explore, learn - and have a blast - with the Biofuel Blast National Science Experiment.

This is a great idea for a project your collegiate 4-H club can lead with local youth.  For more info, visit  http://www.4-H.org/nysd.

Collegiate 4-H Club of the Month
Is your club doing something great? What about something fun? Is there anything you do that you think other clubs would just say wow, why didn’t we think of that?

If you answered yes to any of those, then you are just who we are looking for!  - The Advocacy Team is asking all clubs to submit events and activities that they participate in to be recognized as the Collegiate 4-H Club of the Month. This will be a way to recognize clubs for being active and to let other clubs know what you’ve been up to!
So if you have a great fundraiser, social event, community service project or anything else you can think of, send a short description and/or photo of the event and you might just be featured as the Collegiate 4-H Club of the Month.  Submissions are due by the 25th of each month to c4hnew...@gmail.com and must include contact info for your club.

Decisions for club of the Month will be made at the discretion of the Advocacy Team with two chosen each month. Submissions that are not selected will be kept and reviewed for up to two more selection periods. Clubs may be selected no more than twice in a six month period.

Fall Newsletter - Service Edition
The Fall edition of the National Collegiate 4-H Newsletter will focus on service and we NEED YOUR HELP!  We are asking clubs to submit descriptions of their service projects for the newsletter.  Just write a brief paragraph with all the details (who, what, where, when, why, how, etc.) and send it to c4hnew...@gmail.com by October 15.  If you have any questions, please send an email to the advocacy team.

Thanks,
