Thanks to everyone who has participated with and contributed to the
College Street Corridor Plan process. We have had four (4) public
meetings, counting the West Meadows meeting, and have received a great
deal of positive, constructive comments, ideas, and opinions. They
may not all show agreement, but that is what the process is for - to
put all ideas on the table and resolve them through information and
discussion to create a preferred future. Google Group discussion is
picking up since we began discussing future proposals and hopefully
they will continue.

I am posting this comment because there are concerns that we may not
be able to implement the plan we eventually propose. We may not be
able to do everything right away, but I believe that if we propose a
reasonable plan, one that has precedence in past Springfield plans, it
will be implemented in the long-run, as resources become available.

This is entirely dependent on city officials belief that the plan is
citizen-based. If the plan is citizen-based and adopted by Council,
it will be implemented, if at all possible. If citizens are not
behind it, it will not happen. So, please continue the active,
constructive participation through the meetings, this discussion group
and other means and know that city officials are listening to what you
say.

Thanks Vern for leading this process...

My wife and are transplants who live in West Central (near Missouri
State).

We have made an effort to improve a neighborhood that we think has
great potential (buying & rehabilitating two rental houses on our
block).

Our retirement plans are unsettled. The development of West Meadows
and how it is tied into our neighborhood over the next fifteen years
will be the determining factor on whether we retire in Springfield or
pick-up and head elsewhere.
