The street can be made interesting without a lot of money. This video is from a guy named Rich Dinkela who just won a "Route 66 Road Warrior" award from Phillips 66. He travels old 66 and paints these signs on the road. He would probably be happy to do our road

Great example of how simple things can make a huge difference. This
video also makes me think of a couple earlier thoughts I had about
RT66 and the Art Wall and Art Walk events. I think it would be great
to have some facility to encourage participation from those visiting
and those traveling RT66 - a guestbook (traditional and digital) would
be one easy way. A WiFi connection to encourage folks to upload their
photos of "here I am in #SGF in front of the #RT66 Art Wall" would be
worthwhile as well.
