to College Street Corridor Planning
...unless it is a grove of trees.
Now is the time to plant some saplings throughout the planning area.
Something flowering for spring - something to shade a bench in summer
- something that will change colors in fall - something that will
break the wind and carry a few lights in winter.
I have not followed the details of the planning for the West Meadows
area itself - but one way to tie the planning area to the Meadows
would be to coordinate the landscaping scheme between Street/RT 66
Park/WestMeadows. Pick an iconic "wildflower" to plant throughout the
area?
An asymmetrical street design (EX: parking on one side - wide planting
areas to accommodate trees and landscaping and benches on the other)
would be more appealing than a "standard" (should I say boring?

the middle could give a wide stripe for decorative painting and would
give cyclists a bit of room in the middle of the street to make turns
(without being crowded by traffic on our (hopefully) busy street.
