Subject: Support an African FOI project in
www.AfricanNewsChallenge.org
To:
foi-a...@googlegroups.com
Hi everyone.
A coalition of watchdog journalists & FOI activists in South Africa have
submitted a proposal to the
www.AfricanNewsChallenge.org to help build an
online portal for citizens to submit FOI / ATI requests to government
agencies. More importantly, the portal will create tools to analyse,
annotate, and manage the resulting disclosures from government.
The toolkit will be built so that it can also be used elsewhere in Africa
-- free of charge.
If you think this is a good idea, then you should visit the project's page
on the ANIC website and either 'like' it or leave a comment. The
international jury will consider community support for proposals when they
decide whether to award grants or not.

*FULL DISCLOSURE >* I help co-manage the ANIC fund. My role is to help
match-make between technologists & CSOs / media, and to help projects that
have been entered into the contest to build the strongest possible
proposals for the jury. I don't serve on the jury.
