Bazooka Joe returns as the mascot for Bazooka Bubble Gum in a "Throwback" pack.  The new nostalgic pack distributed nationwide has six pieces of gum each wrapped in classic comics about "Bazooka Joe and his GANG".  In the comics, the eye-patched boy, Bazooka Joe, and his buddies are up to new antics. Famous Major League Baseball trading card company, Topps, is the brand owner. They reached into their Bazooka Joe vault and rejuvenated 48 of their best comics from the 1970s and 80's to include with this retro-pack. 

In 2012 Topps stopped using the comics and replaced them with brain teasers. Logic puzzles and riddles that came with a code and instructions on how to use the code to unlock access to video games. Occasionally Bazooka Joe and Mort would pop up on the gum packaging. Now after almost seven years Bazooka Joe is back.  In an effort to entice the children of today's American pop culture, the comics will have a special "digital code" that unlocks more content via the internet. Topps feels that entering the code is a fun way to bridge the old-school and new-school fun of the Bazooka brand.
