use write_kafka output for sending data to AWS Kinesis?

I was hoping collectd had the capability to write metric output to a log file similar to Beats and Telegraf. I don't see this in the standard outputs. Since I am using AWS and Kinesis, is it possible for me to send the output to AWS Kinesis stream using the 'write_kafka' output? If not, any other work around to get data out? I don't have any of the choices mongodb, redis, etc.
