The future of Colleagues at UQ

Hi Colleagues at UQ Members,

 

The committee has met to discuss the future of our group.  This is due to the small number of member that have re-joined this year & the small turn out we are having each month.

 

The conclusion to our discussion are as follows:

 

1.   We keep going but make it less formal – more a loose social group meeting for friendship

 

2.   Make membership free.

 

3.   Financial member to be asked if they want their membership refunded.

 

4.    Balance of bank account will be spent on catering the November Bash as it will probably be the last one for the year.

 

5.   Change to Pizza Café as cheaper and licenced – investigate Lakeside Café when/if licenced and open at night

 

6.   Keep it at last Friday of month

 

7.   Invites be sent via Calendar reminders/ Google/ Facebook.  We will no longer be putting posters up.

 

8.   The end of August social will start this new invite system.

This will mean that the group will basically be a Google group using the current colleagues...@googlegroups.com email.  Members can add or delete themselves from the group. 

Unless opinion is otherwise there will no longer be discounts or membership cards.

As a final advertising push I will make up a new poster based on the above, laminate it and this can be a permanent poster that we can put up in the various buildings around Uni.  This can be done over a long time scale so it is not a big urgent job.

 

We are after your input on this.  What do you think?
