5 most important points?

1. There is no consensus what a VL is (and how does it relate to VO?)
2. There are many different scopes & scales of potential VL (people,
challenge)
3. It's not just a technical solution: social interactions too
4. In silico processing supported by automated instruments and fieldwork
5. Openness, sharing (and scope of sharing) and trust

Challenges and Solutions?
1. Supporting interactions effectively (e.g. video conferencing)
- Depends on institutional facilities
2. Supporting large data ingest (but what is large). Connectivity matters
- Connectivity
- Posting disks
3. Non optimal tooling can be an issue
- Customise for the problem / community
- Feedback from users
4. Trust
5. Ensuring shared understanding of what the VL does and how it achieves
science goal
- Communication channels
- Understanding tooling
- Have an agreed goal

Useful sources of information?
