Is it too early for somebody to create a github project so we can start adding snippets into version control.  (I don't have any account to create a paid github account)

I'm writing code now, would be good to put it in a centralized place.
I sent to Kacy on Saturday a great Git cheatsheet, we could add that for example as a reference document (e.g. about using version control, stuff we don't teach but we expect people to learn and use)

Regards

Ronald

I use Assembla almost exclusively now. Free open source project accounts as well as free private accounts. That should be considered as an alternative to GitHub if we intend to keep any code privately held for now.

Hmmm.  Interesting.

I haven't done any in depth research, but just flossing over the 'plans' page on the Assembla website only seems to offer a 'free public space' while every plan thereafter requires a subscription. They do however offer a free 30 day trial for all of the plans they offer.

Thank you again Ronald for the great git resources

See http://offers.assembla.com/free-git-hosting/

2GB, no user cap, private repo. It doesn't have things like the wiki or issue tracker, but those can be replaced various other applications (free or paid). I hardly use the web interface on GitHub or Assembla anyways.

Thanks! I thought there might be some sort of hidden deals page! (Or one in plain sight that I might've missed)

Thanks again!
