All,

I've come to an understanding that I may be asking the wrong group the
question I have been asking. "What does collaboration need?". Most of
you are frustrated with me because you want to program. And, I'm
frustrated with myself, because I should have had an answer to the
question, and allowed you to do what you do best .. program.

So, I'm sorry. Truly Sorry for that mistake. And in future plans, I
will endeavor to choose the right people to help me address different
parts of the plan ... For which, I am still in the Planning Phase.

When I have an answer to my question, I'll ask all of you again, if
you'd like to help. In either case, I appreciate your willingness to
initially help, your patience with me, your frustration, and wish you
all the best.

I hope you don't mind if we go ahead and set up the site anyway :)

Mr. Johnson,

I hope you don't mind if we go ahead and set up the site anyway :)

Apparently doing dishes is a wonderful meditation practice.

So I was challenged with two questions ... if we don't know what the answer is, could we work towards the answer?  And if we did work towards the answer, what would that site look like?

Since I can't stop you from working on the site, I will guide you.  But it won't be easy. There will be many parallels along the way. We are going swimming with the sharks boys, so be prepared to wear your chain mail, thick hided suites, and if I hear any of you complain once about how Mellow Dramatic I am, I'll make sure you star in the next John Waters film.

Ok, I'll get my project plan in place, and posted tomorrow morning.

Mike,

I think that every member this group should list their #1 wish for this website. That should help Michael with his quest on what is collaboration. Second, I am happy that Michael has realized he did ask a group of doers to take on a task an understands that us what we do. Lastly, Michael - who is going to answer this question for you? Isn't this site for web designers looking to find other designers to help them get bigger gigs?

Designers finding designers?  I think what we're trying to do is connect the idea creators with the realization components.
Those components aren't just designers, they could also be financial.

Not sure I speak for any of the others, but I find myself filling both roles.  I often overlook the assumption that designer, doer, implementer is mutually exclusive of the idea creators, mostly because that viewpoint is a bit insulting.  I consider myself a committee of one, but what I find I am missing is the implementation skills to promote acceptance of good ideas.

My experience tells me that idea creation is over blown (and usually over in a few moments), and while it is the first step of something great, it doesn’t end there, that there are multiple aspects to an implementation, some of which require skills I don’t have.  It was my hope that I’d meet someone with some of those different implementation skills I don’t posses to help me, or I help them, to complete an implementation, to our mutual benefit.
