Hello All,Thanks for the email Chris. This all looks great. Correct me if I'm wrong, but just for clarity the emails and links I've seen seem to be discussing two different events:
1. The Art of Change evenings run by Alison on Wednesdays 5th, 12th and 19th.2. Culture Collision (run by you Chris?) on Saturday 15th.Is this right and are they indeed distinct events? Sorry if I'm being thick but I'm just trying to get a handle on what's happening and where, if anywhere, I might fit in best.Rob was saying to me yesterday that there was a kind of 'supper club' going on some evenings, where people bring there own nosh and drink and various cultural things happen. Is this the Art of Change evenings or is that something else? From the poster jpg I saw it seemed to be a different kind of angle. A sort of supper club event where people bring their own nosh and drink with different cultural things going on but without a very strict theme would certainly be the most appropriate thing for me, but I'm not sure if that is what you guys are doing. I would be looking to do a wine tasting, maybe blind, giving some very informal tuition on tasting and appreciating wine with an accompanying talk on the culture of wine. I wouldn't really want to do it 'dry' though, so to speak.Any thoughts on where this might possibly fit in are most appreciated and welcome! Unfortunately I can't make the evening of Saturday 15th, which could possibly have been the closest match.Best,Hugo.--Hugo ReadWine Writer and EducatorMember of the Association of Wine EducatorsIWSC Wine JudgeOn 3 December 2012 22:13, Chris Setz <te...@setzweb.com> wrote:
Please note that if you email coliseum-...@googlegroups.com you're sending to Alison, Nora, Ant and Chris (Rob and Hugo, please accept the invite - others, if you haven't already, please subscribe:I've set up a single page on HoL where everything is pointed from:One of the links on it is the calendar:Please let me know of any events so we can fill it up.This means that we can put a link to that single page on our publicity, I've created a shorter link that can be used too: sn.im/cp2012Here's Alison's poster with the link and a QR code:
Here's the full res A4 jpg version for printing. Rob, can we put posters in the window? Is everyone happy with the 'Coliseum Rooms' logo? I'd like to createa HoL post called 'Coliseum Graphics' if that's OK, asking people for help/comments to improve the design.Nora, thanks very much for getting involved. The Culture Jam idea is that many people each make short contributions, so if, say, someone wanted to deliver a song or play some music, it's only be one item (songs are often just a few minutes long) as there are others who hopefully want to contribute. Each item is followed by some conversation and usually a short film. So, a musician who loves playing might be disappointed to have travelled specially yet just gets to play for a few minutes rather than do a 'set'.If you know people who would enjoy this sort of thing, please ask them to 'join' the event http://www.harringayonline.com/events/coliseum-culture-jamIf you know of anyone who would like to 'perform', bearing in mind that it's only one item at a time, please ask them to let me know what they intend. People don't need to stand up, they can just tell a friend or me or anyone that they'd like something done and we'll arrange it.If anyone has any ideas for short films (copyright free), please also get in touch. I have a big list of suitable material so if nobody has any other ideas, there's still enough to fill the two hour slot.Literally anything 'cultural' is welcome, so Hugo, if you wanted to give a short talk about a cultural aspect of wine, you'd be welcome. Rob, hugh, anyone - do you have a favourite poem, film trailer, page or two of a novel, story to tell etc - please do!I'm concerned that not enough people will turn up to the events! If we can get the community on our side, surely they will 'join' the events on HoL, won't they? Anyone got access to any mailing lists?RegardsChris Setzemail chr...@setzweb.comtel 0709 231 5890 (permanent but expensive to dial - no free minutes)0752 500 7132 (normal rates but subject to change)

Chris, I know that you set something up but I have no idea how to access it, even though I think I've joined. Is there any other central organisation happening where we can see what the calendar is looking like, and where people can be in contact with each other? Sorry, but I'm very new to this and feel like things are slipping around a bit.Any thoughts?Alison

Hi Hugo - let me know what time on the 14th and I'll add it. Ideally please also supply a link to the event on HoL so people can 'sign up' so you know they're coming. What I sometimes do is to put a facebook event link in the HoL event entry, as people can 'join' on Facebook without having to be a member of HoL.

Thanks Chris. I am logged into a google account by the way (always am), but I still couldn't edit the calendar. You've put it in at 7:30am, but I meant 7:30pm, perhaps I should have said 19:30! Could you please change it?....Thanks,Hugo.
