Hi,

This is the official topic for discussing image-based virtual reality, cinematic virtual reality, 6-DoF (degrees of freedom) virtual reality, etc.

Feel free to post!

(Just to make a suggestion - In my experience this is not advisable as a way to structure a discussion forum. You're encouraging people to post on broad topic threads. Those threads will end up with multiple questions and answers interleaved and are likely to become unweildy over time. It's much better to encourage people to post single topic questions and keep each discussion thread focussed on that. Compile frequent questions into stickied posts or web pages)

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion! And apologies for the late answer, I haven't checked the forum much in the past year.
I agree with your analysis. I'll try to encourage starting a new thread for each new question.

We had initially created the forum essentially for broader discussions on the topic of image-based VR, and to exchange screenshots and example use cases. However we failed to specify this in the group description, and posts seem to have revolved more around specific issues with the toolkit, which we thought would be posted instead in the GitHub issue tracker. While we have been able to answer the questions raised on GitHub, we haven't been able to spend much time checking this forum, so there are definitely changes to be made in the way we organised that. I added a warning to the forum page on the documentation website to encourage posting issues on GitHub instead (https://caor-mines-paristech.github.io/colibri-vr/forum/), while we'll try to keep the forum as a place for discussions that don't require our direct involvement as maintainers.

Many thanks again!

Greg
