to Object-Oriented Programming in ColdFusion
I did some research last night on Groovy/Grails and Ruby/Rails as they
were mentioned in the podcast. Two things struck me about them.

1) Each language/framework is OO.
2) The frameworks (Grails and Rails) favor convention over
configuration.

I'd like to hear in the next podcast, a discussion of what, if any,
Coldfusion frameworks meet this criteria. I suspect that there are
none.

In my view, the major problem with OO in Coldfusion is that we non-OO
experts are told there is a right way to do OO, but there is nothing
that can explain it to us, only a vague promise that if we keep trying
we'll eventually get it. We need a framework that has the right way
baked into it, one that favors the right conventions over
configuration and flexibility.

Convention over configuration frameworks in CF? My favorites would be
ColdBox and Model Glue, although that's not to say Mach-II isn't - I
just haven't looked at it in a while. There is also CFWheels which is
a Rails style port with a small but dedicated following.

ColdBox, cfWheels, Fusebox 5.5 (no-XML).

No, I don't see that message. What I see is people constantly saying
there is no One True Way.

Model-Glue is *not* convention over configuration at all...
