Multiple http requests

My script should make multiple http requests. 

I need to make 5 http requests each time, parse the response output to find something and if nothing is found make other 5 http requests.

I have never used cfthread and would like to know if it's a good idea to use cfthread or I should find another way to go.

My script will give a timeout error if I will not get anything after first 3-4 attempt? I don't know how works cfthread timeout, could you give me some opinion?
