All 145 achievements are pretty self-explanatory. If you need help with a specific achievement give us a shout in the forums and we'll investigate - or if any of the NLG team finds any tricks to help you along, we will update this page as necessary. Happy hunting folks!

*As of the current version (July '10) almost all achievements can be obtained in privately created servers and against bots. While it's tedious and somewhat llama to just go bot happy and farm out all your achievements, we still do recommend practicing against bots [See: Practice Against Bots] if you want to work on your headshot aim before facing a real foe, which is rather handy for people that stick to their favorites and never practice the other guns. Plus it'll give you a little bump in your kill-counter before you go pubbing to grind out the rest of it. If you're just not dedicated enough to get the skill to earn said grinding achievements, you can always llama it up [See: Easy CSS Achievements].

Zombie riot is a mod that allows you to change your counter strike source dedicated server into a co-op zombie hunting, like Killing Floor. You can configure the zombie waves, the number they come in, zombie types and skins, health, speed and also you can choose in the end to fight with a boss or not. Besides this you can play on each map, no matter which type it is, the terrorists are out of the game, instead of them are the BOTS which are a pretty good if they are in a higher number. They cannot jump so you mustn't worry, but they can use the stairs to get on a roof top or on a bridge that has L or U type stairs. The number of BOTS can be configured and as well the difficult, but I would recommend to leave it to maximum difficult which is 3, the default because they don't camp so much. There are different levels of play, or "days." Level options are defined in levels.txt, there you can set the amount of zombies the humans must kill, and how much extra HP each zombie will receive. If the humans manage to kill the zombies required for the round, the game will advance to the next level. If the humans are defeated then it will backtrack a day.

And... that's all. I hope you guys will like this mod, I had it on my server and it was pretty cool, and now as I have a rooted IP I cannot host a server anymore but, who is making a Steam or Steam/Non-Steam server and adds this mod, please, send me a PM with the IP, I would kill to play this mod on a CS:S server again. Thank you!

Zombie riot is a zombie mod co-op in which you must fight against the zombie hordes, actually, you need to survive. If you want, you can call it a replica of Killing Floor. The only difference between killing floor and this plugin for CS:S is that the zombies don't have special abilities and the weapons are the one you buy (the standard ones, D-Eagle, FA-MAS, Steyr AUG, after their real names). There is also one more thing that they spawn in the terrorist sp (spawn point) which I think, mappers can add it where they want so they might spawn where the map has T sp.
Fortunately, I found some videos on youtube and I wanted to show you how the mod looks:

As you can see in the video, there is a HUD at the bottom center of the screen which shows you the day(wave) that your team is at, the number of zombies left, the name of the day which the owner has set and the number of humans left (your teammates).

U.S. forces may have mistaken an enemy drone for an American one and let it pass unchallenged into a desert base in Jordan where it killed three U.S. troops and wounded dozens more, officials said Monday. The Associated Press News Director for the Persian Gulf and Iran Jon Gambrell explains what could happen next. (Jan. 29)

Three American troops were killed and 25 were injured Sunday in a drone strike in northeast Jordan near the Syrian border, the U.S. military said. President Joe Biden blamed Iran-backed militias for the first U.S. fatalities after months of strikes by the groups against American forces across the Middle East amid the Israel-Hamas war. (Jan. 29)

With an increasing risk of military escalation in the region, U.S. officials were working to conclusively identify the precise group responsible for the attack, but they have assessed that one of several Iranian-backed groups was behind it.

Iran-backed fighters in east Syria began evacuating their posts, fearing U.S. airstrikes, according to Omar Abu Layla, a Europe-based activist who heads the Deir Ezzor 24 media outlet. He told The Associated Press that the areas are the strongholds of Mayadeen and Boukamal.

The large drone struck a logistics support base in Jordan known as Tower 22. It is along the Syrian border and is used largely by troops involved in the advise-and-assist mission for Jordanian forces.

Central Command said approximately 350 U.S. Army and Air Force personnel were deployed to the base. The three who were killed and most of the wounded were Army soldiers, according to several U.S. officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to give details not yet made public.

The U.S. military base at al-Tanf in Syria is just 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of Tower 22. The Jordanian installation provides a critical logistical hub for U.S. forces in Syria, including those at al-Tanf, which is near where the borders of Iraq, Syria and Jordan intersect.

U.S. troops long have used Jordan, a kingdom bordering Iraq, Israel, the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, Saudi Arabia and Syria, as a basing point. Some 3,000 American troops typically are stationed across Jordan.

Since the war in Gaza began Oct. 7, Iranian-backed militias have struck American military installations in Iraq more than 60 times and in Syria more than 90 times, with a mix of drones, rockets, mortars and ballistic missiles. The attack Sunday was the first targeting American troops in Jordan during the Israel-Hamas war and the first to result in the loss of American lives. Scores of U.S. personnel have been wounded, including some with traumatic brain injuries, during the attacks.

The U.S. in recent months has struck targets in Iraq, Syria and Yemen to respond to attacks on American forces in the region and to deter Iran-backed Houthi rebels from continuing to threaten commercial shipping in the Red Sea.

Biden, who was in Columbia, South Carolina, on Sunday, was briefed in the morning by Austin, national security adviser Jake Sullivan, and principal deputy national security adviser Jon Finer, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said. In the afternoon, he met virtually with Vice President Kamala Harris and his national security team for an update.

Syria is still in the midst of a civil war and long has been a launch pad for Iranian-backed forces there, including the Lebanese militia Hezbollah. Iraq has multiple Iranian-backed Shiite militias operating there as well.

Jordan, a staunch Western ally and a crucial power in Jerusalem for its oversight of holy sites there, is suspected of launching airstrikes in Syria to disrupt drug smugglers, including one that killed nine people earlier this month.

Three officials with Iran-backed militias in Iraq, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter with journalists, said the drone attack against the base in Jordan was launched by one of the Iraqi groups. No faction has yet officially claimed responsibility.

Baldor reported from Washington. Associated Press writers Nasser Karimi in Tehran, Iran; Bassem Mroue and Abby Sewell in Beirut; Qassim Abdul-Zahra in Baghdad; Omar Akour in Amman, Jordan, and Jon Gambrell in Jerusalem contributed to this report.

Valve announced Counter-Strike 2 at the start of this year and has been running it in a limited beta ever since, swapping 1-2 maps at a time, adding isolated features, and generally withholding the full package that it unveiled yesterday. That limited rollout made it hard to get a handle on just how different it's going to feel from CS:GO, but now we have no option. When CS2 went live, CS:GO became a beta branch on Steam (despite some mixed messages from Valve, CS:GO has not been 'disappeared' Stalin-style and remains accessible albeit with community servers).

Perhaps Counter-Strike 2's biggest problem is that number. In a series that has always been iterative, new Counter-Strikes have traditionally been pitched as variants on the existing game: vanilla Counter-Strike is better-known as Counter-Strike 1.6 (after a particular patch version), then there's CS:Condition Zero, CS:Source, and of course CS:GO. Whatever changes and upgrades these versions made, they weren't positioned as replacements in the way CS2 has been.

That leads to CS2, initially at least, feeling underwhelming. As one wag joked, "CS2 has only been out a day but feels like it's been here 10 years". Apart from the quality jump in maps, weapons, and all visual assets, many of the improvements it's made over CS:GO are backend, under-the-hood types of things that aren't obvious to players, yet the game itself comes branded as the first true sequel in 24 years.

My first games in CS2 proper, having played it a fair amount in beta, were nothing like moving from Halo 2 to Halo 3, fundamentally different multiplayer experiences. Instead it almost feels more like a director's cut or a definitive version of something you've been playing for years (because of course you have). I've seen a bunch of community grousing about the movement feeling lighter, and even complaints about the feel of the gunplay, but debating these very fine details is a longstanding tradition for competitive FPS players. That's not to say anyone's wrong, but as someone who's played the game for two decades I don't detect huge differences (admittedly, I was never going to make the NiP roster, even when I had reflexes).
