Contact your proposed Higher Education Institution (HEI) to check whether they define your course as taught or research. Each institution defines the courses it offers differently. Master of Research (MRes) courses can be classified as taught or research. Make sure you know what kind of course you intend to take before you apply for your ATAS certificate.

A researcher may be working independently or as part of team. You need to apply for an ATAS certificate if research is being conducted at PhD level or above. PhD students should apply through the student route, not researcher route.

All subject areas studied at UK Higher Education Institutions are identified by CAH3 code. Your HEI or research institute will provide you with a CAH3 code and confirm whether you require an ATAS certificate. ATAS uses V1.3.4 of the CAH3.

Operated by the IEC System of Conformity Assessment Schemes for Electrotechnical Equipment and Components (IECEE), the IECEE Certification Body scheme is an international system for mutual acceptance of test reports and certificates dealing with the safety of electrical and electronic components, equipment, and products.

Under the terms of the KPCS, participating states must meet 'minimum requirements' and must put in place national legislation and institutions; export, import and internal controls; and also commit to transparency and the exchange of statistical data. Participants can only legally trade with other participants who have also met the minimum requirements of the scheme, and international shipments of rough diamonds must be accompanied by a KP certificate guaranteeing that they are conflict-free.

The model certificates shown in this web site conform to the format recommended by the World Health Organization. Although the contents of the model certificates are consistent throughout the Scheme, certificates issued by different national authorities may have a different format and occasionally different wording.

When any doubt arises about the status or validity of a certificate, the competent authority in the importing country should request a copy directly from the certifying authority, as provided for under section 4.9 of the guidelines.

You can obtain planning information regarding the Region Scheme zonings and reservations of your property through region scheme certificates (clause 42 (Metropolitan Region), clause 47 (Peel Region) or clause 53 (Greater Bunbury Region).

The CB scheme is an international system for mutual recognition of test results and certificates relating to the safety of electrical and electronic components, operating equipment and products on the basis of a multilateral agreement between participating countries and certification organizations.

More than 50 countries currently take part in the CB scheme, including Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, South Africa, India, China, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Canada, USA, Mexico and Argentina.

The CB scheme makes it much easier for manufacturers to market their electrotechnical products at an international level. A CB certificate and the CB test report allow manufacturers to apply more quickly for the respective national certification marks for various target markets.

Our CB certificates allow you to export your electrotechnical products more quickly around the world. You can also call on a single source for additional testing and certification for the different national test marks in your target markets. There is no need for expensive multiple testing, and you benefit from shorter testing times and our extensive international experience.

Do you have any questions about the CB scheme or the requirements you need to meet to market your electrotechnical products at a global level? We are happy to tell you all about the CB scheme and various country-specific regulatory requirements as part of ourMarket Access Services.

When you submit your request for a CB certificate, you or your representative need to include all necessary technical documents and list all the national and international production sites for your electrotechnical product. You provide us with a sample of the electrotechnical product for testing.Once we have tested the prototype and determined whether it conforms to the applicable IEC standards we will create a CB test report. On the basis of this CB test report we issue a CB certificate that you will receive along with the CB test report.

Based on your CB certificate we are happy to provide further country-specific certifications as part of our Market Access Service. Just send us a list of all the countries where you want to sell your electrotechnical product in future.

The IECEE CB scheme, or CB scheme for short, is an international system for the mutual recognition of test results and certificates relating to the safety ofelectrical and electronic components, operating equipment and products. It is based on a multilateral agreement between participating countries and certification organizations. The primary aim of the IECEE CB scheme is to facilitate international trading of electrotechnical products by offering manufacturers a simpler way to obtain country-specific certificates around the world.

The CB scheme is based on international IEC standards. Where national standards are not fully harmonized with IEC standards, national regulatory requirements and special national conditions can be considered in the CB scheme. This is only possible if they have been formally declared to the IECEE secretariat and submitted in detail for further publication.

Any country that is a member of the IEC can nominate its national certification bodies for the CB scheme. This assumes that the national standards in that country have been harmonized with the IEC standards. Any deviations from or differences to the IEC standards must be publicly declared and submitted to the IECEE secretariat for publication. In addition, every national certification body (NCB) must submit an application for recognition of the specific IEC standards that it wishes to apply as part of the CB scheme. Every applicant is assessed on site by a team consisting of experts employed by members (NCBs and CBTLs) to verify compliance with the requirements stated in ISO/IEC 17065 and ISO/IEC 17025 respectively. IECEE currently has over 50 member bodies and around 500 CB testing laboratories (CBTLs). A CBTL is a test lab that is recognized according to the CB scheme and is therefore permitted to perform testing and issue CB test reports for one or more product categories.

A manufacturer of electrotechnical products or their representative applies to an NCB for product certification in line with the CB scheme. A CBTL tests product samples for conformity with the applicable IEC standards. If the products comply with the applicable IEC standards, the CBTL issues a test report, and the NCB issues a CB test certificate based on that test report.

Manufacturers can ask the NCB to perform additional product tests in order to obtain the certification marks required by their products in different target markets. If the manufacturer already has CB certificates and test reports, any other NCB that participates in the CB scheme and recognizes these CB certificates can offer further tests on the basis of these certificates if such tests are required before products can be brought to market.

The CB scheme offers many advantages, particularly to manufacturers that export their products to countries participating in the CB scheme. They can choose an NCB, have a single NCB perform product testing and any additional testing required before products can be launched on additional target markets, and use CB test reports and certificates to obtain country-specific certification marks.

NCBs participating in the CB scheme are also encouraged to give priority to certification applications based on existing CB certificates. Certifications based on the CB scheme therefore cost less time and money.

The CB scheme covers a wide range of products: IT and office equipment, domestic consumer electronics and appliances, lighting systems, measuring equipment and electrical medical devices. We offer CB scheme safety testing andEMC testingfor the following electrical product groups as categorized by IECEE.

Developed through extensive and open consultation with global stakeholders, the FSSC 22000 scheme uses international and independent standards such as ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO/TS 22003, and technical specifications for sector-specific Pre-Requisite Programs (PRPs), including ISO/TS 22002-1.

This guide explains the benefits of NHSS certification and the steps involved in achieving it. It also describes the range of schemes available, who they apply to, and how to access the scheme documents.

NHSSs are integrated quality management schemes, bespoke to individual highways specialisms. They aim to make sure that work is carried out to the highest standards of professionalism, using properly trained and competent staff.

There are more than 20 individual schemes. Each is developed and managed by a technical advisory committee, whose membership is made up of industry representatives and other interested parties, such as highway authorities, trade associations and certification bodies. Further specialists may join the committees as appropriate.

If your organisation supplies services (including the supply of products but excluding the manufacture of products subject to legal conformity assessment requirements) to National Highways under the Specification for Highways Works (SHW), you must be certified for all the relevant schemes for the work you're contracted to undertake.
