@firstdefence,
Not all plugins run in both OS's. And even in the same OS there's variations depending on the plugin and the store where the Affinity app was purchased.
Where are you running yours?

I do not have that plugin to test with so I do not know if this will be of any help but I had a similar problem with another plugin & to get the preview to work properly I had to marquee select the pixel layer before opening the plugin.
There is nothing you can do unfortunately, it's just the way they have written the plugin code and it's not completely compatible with Affinity. I might suggest you contact Imagenomic and make a request for compatibility with Affinity Photo and the issue you are having, maybe they can shed some light on the issue.
Me too! But my problem started after Adobe Tech suppprt fixed a problem I was having with the mixer brush. Now portraiture is not working. If you try to close it out, it freezes up and the only way you can shut it down is with a forced quit. My OS is up to date. I had to update drivers for Wacom, and PS is on update 21. Something.
Does anyone know how to totally remove this from photoshop? I ran the uninstaller, and it still shows up in photoshop's plugin menu. I went to \users\appdata\roaming and deleted the whole remaining \imagenomic folder, and it still shows up in photoshop's menu.
Free Download Imagenomic Portraiture plugin for Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom eliminates the tedious manual labor of selective masking and pixel-by-pixel treatments to help you achieve excellence in portrait retouching.
There are many different tools out there that help photographers edit. We all use Photoshop or Lightroom, actions or our own mix of things to come up with our workflow. And most of us that photograph seniors use some type of skin softening action or plugin. One of the most common tools for skin softening is Portraiture by Imagenomic. Portraiture not only softens skin but does it in a fast and effective way!
Portraiture is considered a plugin for Photoshop and Lightroom. A Plugin is are add-on programs aimed at providing additional image effects or performing tasks that are impossible or hard to fulfill using Adobe Photoshop alone. Plugins can be opened from within Photoshop and several other image editing programs. (source: _plugin)
There are many, many great video tutorials on Imagenomic that will help you learn the basics of this amazing program. I think you will find it very useful in editing your senior portraits. You can download a trial version of this program via their website and I highly recommend doing that to test it out and figure out for yourself the benefits of this awesome plugin!
Imagenomic cut their virtual teeth by algorithmically massaging faces in still photographs to cleanse them of blemishes and otherwise give them a clean, youthful glow. For many wedding and studio photographers, the photo plugin is their go-to retouching tool. Now, Imagenomic has embarked on a more ambitious task: to apply the same automatic facial retouching to video. We spent some time using Portraiture for Video in tandem with David Patiño, a Northern New Jersey-based photographer and director, to see whether they could pull it off.
I originally posted this comparison on December 2, 2013, after taking advantage of some Black Friday sales. Since the technology behind these plugins has changed from some of the vendors, I thought it was time to update the comparison.
Many vendors will give you several versions of their plugin with the same purchase to work with Photoshop, Lightroom and Aperture. Not so with Imagenomic. I bought the Photoshop plugin, but the Aperture and Lightroom version were an extra cost.
You have plenty of options to adjust the skin smoothing, but ON1 Portrait does more. It allows you to deal with blemishes and control other aspects beyond skin softening. With ON1 Portrait 10, you can whiten teeth and eyes. There are options for your skin retouching based upon gender, age and ethnicity. Of course, you have sliders available to tweak how much of each adjustment to apply. Unlike the other skin softening plugins, ON1 Portrait 10 also works as a stand-alone software package.
