Were sorry, but (office app name) has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly. (Office app name) will need to be closed as a result. Would you like to repair now?

I have the same problem. After decades of faultless use of Office suite use with one off purchases, I finally went for the Office suite subscription. Now I am once again having to repair / re-download / re-install Office in order to open a simple Word document. Sorry, Microsoft, this is not good enough. Any solutions?

The repair utility returns an "Online Repairs need the internet and it looks like you may not be connected", and does almost immediately upon being run.

The computers are connected to the internet and can otherwise access all websites, including the various MS websites.

It's not a a PMTUD issue (my usual go to when this sort of weirdness happens). If the device is tethered instead to a 4G connection or otherwise bypasses the Sophos XG, the issue goes away.

The device has the Office365 web exceptions setup as per -us/132291

Sophos is an XG330 running 17.5.1 MR-1 and there is nothing immediately obvious in the system logs.

Hi ersatcha

Thank you for contacting us.

Did you observe any denied logs for URLs related to Microsoft Office repair utility under web or application filter logs?

Please try to create below given scenario to narrow down few things.

1. Create source IP based firewall rule for LAN to WAN for specific system IP.

2. Position the rule on top

3. Please apply HTTPS scanning only and Web and Application filter as allow all and check whether the utility runs or not.

4. Please apply HTTPS scanning only and Web filter policy and verify the scenario

5. Please apply HTTPS scanning only and App filter policy and verify the scenario

This can be a variety of false positives from web filtering to country blocking depending on how you have it setup, there are a few more additional considerations here besides the Sophos KB -firewall/f/firewall-and-policies/109016/xg-firewall-policy-blocks-office365-download-and-install

I would go to log viewer, look at the firewall rules for that specific IP for anything denied and also look at the web filter logs for that specific IP for anything denied. Once you find what it is it gets easier to narrow down.

When installing Office on your personal PCs, you might see this error if a previous installation of Office failed. Here are some things you can try to fix the problem. I will discuss Error Code 0-2031 (17006) in this post.

In case of an update or upgrade of Office application issues, you will need to make sure that none of the following executables are running during update time, then the update will fail with the error code 17006.

There are two repair options available for Office 365 or 2021. The quick Repair and Online Repair. I will try the quick repair option for Microsoft Office 365 apps as the first step. If that is not helping you, then you should try the second option mentioned below.

You will need to click on Repair button again to confirm and start the quick repair. Now, you will get a notification to close the office suite application before starting the repair. Click on Continue button to close the office apps and start the Quick repair.

Online repair option is much more advanced than quick repair and this fixes all issues with Office applications. But this option takes a little longer and requires an internet connection throughout the process.

Similar to quick repair, Office 365 Online Repair also needs a confirmation to start the process and then it will ask permission to close office apps. Click on Repair button and Click on Continue button to close the applications that are open.

The Microsoft Office Application installation/repair/reset is completed now. And you have a freshly reinstalled or repaired Office suite of applications. Most of the common Office apps related issues might be resolved by now.

What does this program do?

Also known as the Section 504 Home Repair program, this provides loans to very-low-income homeowners to repair, improve or modernize their homes or grants to elderly very-low-income homeowners to remove health and safety hazards.

Why does USDA Rural Development do this?

Helping people stay in their own home and keep it in good repair helps families and their communities. Homeownership helps families and individuals build savings over time. It strengthens communities and helps many kinds of businesses that support the local economy.

NOTE: Because citations and other information may be subject to change, please always consult the program instructions listed in the section above titled "What Governs this Program?" Applicants may also contact your local office for assistance.

Prior to applying, potential applicants are encouraged (but are not required) to go through an informal prequalification process to determine if the repair program may be a good fit for them. To start, potential applicants can contact their local Rural Development office and provide the following documentation:

Very-low income homeowners in rural areas interested in applying for the repair program (preferably after going through the prequalification process as described above) can contact their local Rural Development office and provide the following documentation:

Updated to windows 11, then went back to 10 due to limitations I was not happy with. Now Ablebits will not run in excel. The instructions above are for what appears to be an older version of office. I follow the instructions and Microsoft 365 (Office) is my only option with a different icon. Under the advanced options - I see Repair, but no online repair. What do I need to do? Can I just reinstall ablebits?

thanks.

As for your issue, we have just released a new version of Ultimate Suite. Please uninstall your current version, then download and install the latest Ultimate Suite 2024. I have sent you the upgraded license key by email. If the issue persists, please email us back at sup...@ablebits.com.

SCI improvements consist of replacing existing windows and doors with acoustically rated noise-insulating windows and doors, an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) installation and associated electrical work, and building sealing measures aimed to reduce the interior noise levels in eligible homes that lie within the NEM.

SCI is entering the final round of noise insulation treatments and, until further notice, no new applications will be accepted. Any homes currently included in the SCI will continue to be handled and finalized accordingly within the initiative.
