Hey everyone,

One of the things I was suppose to do after the last meeting was review Coin Box. I just wanted to let everyone know that I have not yet been able to accomplish this task yet. I have been busy with work, but I will attempt to do this sometime this week.

Sorry about the delay.

Hi,

Apologies for not being able to do this any sooner. Feb end-March is a festive season in India.

Anyhow, I have been able to find a few bugs in the current version of CoinBox.

1. The clock-in feature does not work. The context menu items are displayed in grey when I clock in using any user.
2. Stock management has some bugs. I can add new items to the stock but the new items are only displayed once i restart coinbox. Also the newly listed items cannot be added to the final bill.
3. There seems to be an issue with the currency module as well. I tried addding INR as a currency but conversion rate was causing an issue, it is not clear what the base currency is from the GUI.As a workaround, I tried an arbitrary high value for conversion rate and it worked.
4. Items added to the stock in one currency cannot be added during billing if the default currency is set different from which the item was added.

I might need to explain the points in detail. Kindly revert back incase any issue requires further explaination.

I Like the idea of collaboration for the same common goal, but I am seeing some of my ideas diverging from the initial concept. I would love to help coding and fixing any bugs that there might be in coinbox. Right now I am just super pressed for time.

Hi Guys,

Let us all try to find some time off our busy schedules and hasten our progress towards creating an affordable and quality POS. I would appreciate if this group stays active either through regular hangout calls or through this forum whatever is convinient to everyone.

Yes, I agree. But I do know that everyone that is active is already attempting to do this. We have some great people working on this project.

For me the email list works best, because I can reply when I have time vs having to reorganize my schedule. One thing I would like to mention is if people are working on something for the project to please mention it, because that would help the communications at this time. At some point I would like to set up a ticket/online check list that would let us see who is working on what and when, but it is not needed at this point.

I have just got my windows 7 VM up and running. I was wanting to check to see if there is anything I may have to change or adjust to get Coin Box up and running. I am going to get the basics installed...like real basics...

Python
Pip
MySQL

But do we have a working installer for windows or should I just do the git pull method? I am just planning on installing it and looking over the progress and create a new "road map" or check list of items to address.

Yes the windows installer is working fine. There are issues with billing though. You ll fogure that out once you use it for billing.
