OK now installation is complete.

Configuration done.

Database type : MySQL
Database name : coinbox
Database user: 'username'
Database password: 'password'

I've set the logging level to debugby running "coinbox.py raw-config" and changed the engine to mysql (wrong action?)

When I launch coinbox the login window appears.
Now which username and password I am supposed to enter?
I ask because I've tried 'username' and 'password' from the mysql database but I got an "invalid username or password" error.

Thanks,
S.

Thanx Ben.

admin:admin worked out.

then I was asked for user:password again (even if I login&clockin)
again only admin:admin made me go ahed

but all I got was the main window all grayed up with (down below) "Coinbox POS is ready"

I don't know why but it seems that coinbox doesn't see the database I have configured

Regards,
S.

It has been a while sense I have used it, but check under the admin/systems area to see if you can put in the database information.

I am planning on trying to install it tonight if I can.

For the database, once you set it up from `python coinbox.py config`, you don't have to do anyhting else.
For the logging you go to raw-config, and you only set "app.log" to "DEBUG" and you can also set "app.log_use_colors" to true (checked) if you have clint installed.

If you used the test data when setting up the database, the default usernames are:
  • Super:super
  • Admin:admin
  • Employee:employee
  • Manager:manager

If you don't, you can use _superuser_:_superuser_ as user:password. But you should probably create your own user from there.

Concerning the blank window, it's either the experimental thing I was working on: a "first-time setup" wizard which will make all this setup easier and that's not done at all. If you close coinbox and restart it you should be okay in that case.

If not, then it's probably because the modules were not installed/loaded correctly. Can you attach a log?

Thanks for your patience :)

I have attached a log from two consecutive run of coinbox as Admin:admin for login and Admin:admin for clockin.
Also the settings from raw-config.
I used the test values.

When I clockin I can do nothing but detach and move the toolbar.
(I feel that I messed up something)

Don't worry for the patience, I've got plenty.:-)
Seems to me you've got a lot too...
Thanx

Ciao,
S.

Working on it. There we lots of things here which should not have happened and I've almost fixed them all. But I also want to make sure it works on Windows and that it can be compiled into an installer on Windows. There's also another issue I was looking into, unrelated directly to installing here, but is affected indirectly.

It's all on the "setup" branch on Github and it's getting closer. I'm testing on Windows now.

There doesn't seem to be anything wrong in the logs.

What do you see in the toolbar? Exit/Logout/Clock-in/Clock-out right? And on the right? Is it empty?

If it's not empty, then what happens when you click on one of them?

And a side note, you can choose to "cancel" the clock-in. It should be clearer that you don't have to do it though. And it shouldn't show if you pressed "login & clockin" when logging in, but that'll have to wait :)

I attached a screenshot so you can see exactly what I see when using the same config as you.

Jonathan,

Please do not ask questions for someone else, this is an open place for people to ask what they need to. thank you.

If you are wondering were the the documentations are for this, right now they are in the email/post "Testing Begins" and "A Fresh install > Check-up needed". There are files attached to some of them that would help you get things installed.

OK got it.
If I don't clock-in I got a usable environment.
If at any time I clock-in, you can see what I get in the attached screenshot.
By the way, I am asked to clock-in even if I select 'Login&Clockin'

Now I'm going to play alitte bit with it and we'll see where I'll end up...
Stay tuned

S.

Ok good!

I knew you are asked to clock-in even if you just did. Actually not long I was fixing this, that must have been when I created that issue. I'm not sure if I had stopped half-way or just made that inadvertently.

It's very helpful to have other people test the code you're writing, you always benefit from it!
