In modern usage, enthusiasm refers to intense enjoyment, interest, or approval expressed by a person. The term is related to playfulness, inventiveness, optimism, zest, verve, and high energy. The word was originally used to refer to a person possessed by God, or someone who exhibited intense piety.

Here are five concepts that I employ to work with ELGL volunteers. I hope that our volunteers agree with my overview (and please let me know if this differs from your experiences volunteering with ELGL!):
My goal is to approach ELGL members with enthusiasm and happiness about the volunteer work that we need to get done, and how the individual perspectives of our members make the organization stronger and more successful.
Another component of effectively managing volunteers is to allow them to focus on the fun stuff and keep the drudgery out of the work. ELGL staff works really hard to pick up the loose ends, boring administrative tasks, and general drudgery so our members can use their volunteer time on things they care about or want to learn more about.
As an example: when we had 30 people step up earlier this month to organize #NDOSC events, our goal was to make the events as turnkey as possible. We wanted our members to focus on the joy of hosting Supper Clubs with people in the region, and not worrying about registration links, marketing, reimbursements, etc.
Our approach is to encourage and engage in social media conversations with our members, and when we come across someone who has a perspective to share, we jump on the opportunity to ask them to contribute.
I also try to recognize that everyone is approaching volunteering at different points in their careers and lives. Someone who just had a baby, for example, might not be interested in hosting a Supper Club, but might be absolutely the right fit to write for a new blog series. And when that baby grows up, they might be better positioned to take on a role leading a more time intensive event or activity.
A frequent topic of discussion in the ELGL Facebook and Slack groups are the ways that local governments have volunteer appreciation events. I love reading the ideas that different organizations recognize volunteers.

The drumline and Roo Football team greeted students at Ira Cross Elementary with high-fives as the students made their way into the cafeteria, creating an atmosphere charged with positivity and motivation.
On March 23, 2023, the Mountain House Tracy Telugu Association (MTTA) celebrated Ugadi with great enthusiasm and grandeur, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Telugu community. Ugadi, also known as the Telugu New Year, is a significant festival celebrated in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, marking the beginning of a new lunar calendar year.
The festivities organized by MTTA were a vibrant display of the cultural and traditional richness of the Telugu people. The event featured a diverse range of activities that highlighted the artistic, musical, and culinary aspects of Telugu culture. One of the main attractions of the celebration was the traditional Indian dance performances, where skilled dancers brought to life the grace and beauty of classical dance forms, captivating the audience with their intricate movements and vibrant costumes.
Music played a central role in the festivities, with performances showcasing traditional Telugu music that resonated with the spirit of the occasion. The beats of the drums, melodies of traditional instruments, and the soulful renditions of vocalists added a rhythmic and melodious dimension to the celebration, creating an immersive cultural experience for attendees.
A significant part of the event was dedicated to a food festival that featured a delightful array of Telugu cuisine. Attendees had the opportunity to savor authentic dishes that are an integral part of Telugu culinary traditions. The food festival not only satisfied the taste buds but also served as a means of preserving and sharing the culinary heritage of the Telugu community.
The success of the Ugadi celebration was attributed to the active participation and support of the large number of Indians who came together to make the event memorable. Their enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment to preserving and promoting their cultural heritage were evident in every aspect of the celebration.
In conclusion, the Ugadi celebration by Mountain House Tracy Telugu Association was a grand and vibrant tribute to the cultural diversity and historical richness of the Telugu community. Through traditional performances, music, a food festival, and cultural exhibits, the event successfully brought together the community to celebrate their heritage and create lasting memories.
1) Success is the ability to move from one failure to another without loss of enthusiasm.
2) Success is going from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.
3) Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.
People now began to talk about the nervy, energetic young man who could go from failure to failure with a smile on his face. It is a tradition in theatrical management that successful starts almost invariably mean disastrous finishes.
In March 1953 a New York newspaper column on the subject of religion printed the saying with a slightly different phrasing. The ascription was anonymous:[7] 1953 March 13, The Morning Herald, Lenten Readings: On Going On, Quote Page 25, Column 4, Gloversville and Johnstown, New York. (Old Fulton)
Also in 1987 a syndicated columnist in a Pennsylvania newspaper linked the expression to Churchill:[12] 1987 July 22, New Castle News, Turning failure into success can make life bearable again by William D. Brown, Quote Page 12, Column 4, New Castle, Pennsylvania. (NewspaperArchive)
In conclusion, there is no substantive evidence that Winston Churchill or Abraham Lincoln crafted this saying. The first instances located by QI were printed in the 1950s and were anonymous. QI thinks that future researchers will probably find earlier examples as databases grow.
Over a period of time anonymous expressions have sometimes been incorrectly reassigned to famous individuals. Statements appear to be more forceful and memorable when linked to major orators and thinkers.

When a person is enthusiastic, he has more energy and can overcome obstacles in life. So the energy you put into your actions has a significant impact on the results as well as the way you feel. It is enthusiasm that inspires you, gives you more strength and motivation. This becomes the fuel that ignites your will and determination to act. It is the result of a mixture of interest and joy, which moves and activates you to seek new goals. In this way, any person who does his work with pleasure, dedication, and joy is already a step ahead of success.
An enthusiastic person believes in his ability to transform things, to make it work. It is not success that brings enthusiasm. It is the enthusiasm that brings success. A genuinely enthusiastic person can use all his power and be more productive and dedicated to whatever he does. With this, nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm, as Ralph Waldo Emerson said, is true.
