An explanation here –
The scope I bought from US and using now - Zhummel 10 inch Dobsonian
is a Chinese made scope. It is one of the best in the category.
The binoculars I use except my Swift 8x 35, Nikon (Made in Taiwan)
and Celestron 15x70 (Made in China) are wonderful instruments and used
by me regularly.
The previous scope that I bought from US and used earlier - which is
now with Sri.Sakthivel – Orion Mak 127 mm - is also a Chinese made
beautiful one. One of the best I have used.
Sri Saktthivel’s Celestron 100 mm refractor and many parts of his
computerised 11 inch Celestron SCT are made in China.
Chinese are making excellent scopes - no second opinion regarding
that.
But there are also cheap junk scopes made in China (which are used
by some known brands) and also in India which do not qualify to
the basic needs of sky watching.
I am talking here about the cheap junk scopes sold by some known
brands that are Chinese made and are good for nothing. Mainly – 50mm
and 60 mm refractors.
I have seen them and used them myself and they are nothing but just
junk.
The issue here is not the country that makes the scopes , but the
quality and usability of the scope.
Sadly except few, those who sell theses instruments do not have any
experience in sky watching or knowledge about telescope optics. . They
are just business people selling their commodity.
That’s why we again reiterate that you can avail our expertise in
selecting and choosing the correct scope or binoculars for your use.
Every rupee spent on any instrument should be worth it.
I have fought against selling unworthy equipment for sky watching all
along – which is the order of the day in our country - and will
continue to do so.
Clear skies
